  The overall condition of the cabinet is very good. We estimate that it is 70+ years old but there are only minor marks of age and use. It was probably built for use in a large department store where it would have housed expensive items such as silk gloves and scarves, leather gloves and accessories. At the end of the shop day the tambour front would be pulled down and locked to protect the contents from any "light fingered" cleaning or maintenance workers.
